In the picture series entitled “Drawn by Magnetic Field”, the author concentrates on certain invisible force which constantly draws us in, or alternatively keeps us “shackled” in our carnality, but at the same time dynamically shapes our life, interpersonal relationships or, as the case may be, our entire existence.
In the mind of the author, this driving energy is personified exactly in the equally invisible magnetic force.
The author acts here rather as a mediator, or, as the case may be, as a creator of the visual space in which this force operates.
The spectator is here confronted by both the “drawing” proper, consisting of metal dust, and by the internal source of the pictures itself – the magnet.
A specific contrast is thus created, between the expressive gesture of throwing metal dust upon the canvas, with elementary form of the reverse image in the shape of the aforementioned magnet. An ideational bridge to a kind of permanent energy is also offered here, which, however, results in a transformation into manifold forms – whether we think of the world of nature or of our anthropomorphic environment.
